Whew.. a long day. After working, I went straight out to do some mowing. Now, while I have improved my health and such over the past few years, the yard at my fairly new house is a beast. It’s in the mountains. Sure, we’re lucky in the sense that we have a yard at all, but the front yard is easily at a 45 degree angle. Heh. It’s crazy.
I can’t believe I forgot to post about my tattoo when I got it. It was during the few weeks I was crazy busy recently. I got it at Invidia Tattoo in Asheville, NC. The artist who did it is Tina McFarland. She and the entire staff at Invidia are amazing. The shop has an amazing vibe, feels incredibly welcoming and was a blast from start to finish. I’ll be headed in this coming Friday (7/25) for some touch-ups and to plan for my next one. Woooooo! But yeah, I just can’t say enough about Tina and everyone at Invidia. I can’t believe how well Tina translated Jonathan Powell’s art for my book, SOULS OF ASTRAEUS to a mind-blowing tattoo.
Well, my wife and I watched Paranormal Activiblah tonight. Oh, sorry… by Paranormal Activiblah, I mean Paranormal Activity 5. We have loved the series for the most part. Between the twists in plot, new characters, shifting time periods and of course, the different camera angles, we’ve held on and enjoyed each of them on their own merits. Well, that’s how we felt until we watched the most recent one anyway.
The ending is completely confusing. It’s led up to poorly and doesn’t make sense at all in regards to the rest of the movie.
Up until then, it fumbles along with a combination of very predictable scares we’ve seen before in the previous films, and silly scare gimmicks that make a person laugh instead of scream.
It’s very obvious the series has run out of steam, and even though five movies is a good run before running out, I hope they’re done with the franchise before it gets any worse.

Whew! This schedule craziness has been driving me insane. I literally feel like I have had to fight to get to my blog tonight to provide an update. After being VERY good with my previously announced posting schedule of Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, I haven’t been able to post in almost a month. I truuuuuuuuly plan on not letting such a long lapse again.
For some general good news, my wife and I have had mostly a fun and busy past month. We had a big July 4th shindig with my family, and then we had some old college buddies come and hang out. It was great to spend time with them, catch up, and we even went tubing while they were here. So, so, fun…
