The Akallian Tales trilogy is complete!

Well, the final Akallian Tales book launched about 6 months ago. This blog post never made it out of the draft stage until today. I started it and got distracted, and didn’t get back to it until now. Such is life, I guess. Anyway, I’ll share a bit about wrapping this series up, talk a bit about what’s coming, and hopefully get back to a more regular cycle of posting, similar to the first few years of the blog. This post is my only one of 2016, so far! Gah!

Quick recap: I started writing the first book of the Akallian Tales trilogy, Souls of Astraeus, around 2006 or so, having no idea if/when other books would follow. I wrote most of it within a few months, but then sat on it until 2013 when I bucked up, added another 20k or so words, revised, and finished it. I then threw myself into months of research on self-publishing, and the remarkably complex other facets of an industry of which actual publishing is only a small part. So, in 2014, Souls of Astraeus launched, and then in 2015 came Games of Astraeus, and then earlier this year, Fates of Astraeus. It’s crazy. Just two and a half years ago, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get a book out, and now, I’m working on my fourth.

Akallian Tales segue
A segue by any other name…

Coven Queen

My next book is Coven Queen. I’m beyond excited about it. While The Akallian Tales trilogy is a complex space opera suitable for all ages, Coven Queen will be drastically different. It will be geared towards New Adult, or 18+, with any younger readers being so at the discretion of their parents. It is going to be a whiplash-inducing jumble of high and epic fantasy, grimdark, and, swords and sorcery. I can’t wait for you to read it, and to meet the main character. She is a force of nature…
